everviz pie charts can easily be customized to any colors, fonts, and styles you choose. To create your personalized interactive pie chart, follow these steps: First, create a new project using the everviz chart maker and select the “Pie” chart type. Import your data and choose one of the starter templates (don’t worry if you can’t find something exactly right, you can change all the details later). Before proceeding to the “publish” stage, you can select “Continue in Editor” which allows you to customize all aspects of your chart. You can change colors, fonts, styles, and even add your company logo. If you intend to make more than one chart, you can create your own ‘theme’ which allows you to share your custom styles across different charts and even amongst your team members.
Pie charts are a very common chart type, but sometimes they get some criticism. You should be aware that pie charts are not always the clearest way to present data, especially for more complex data sets. It is difficult for the human brain to compare areas when interpreting diagrams – we find it much easier to compare magnitudes when they are represented in single dimensions (such as lines or bars). As such, if you have a more complex data set or want to compare quite small differences in value, then you might consider an alternative chart such as a bar graph. However, pie charts are a commonly understood way of illustrating how different parts make up a whole. They can be a quick and attractive way to make simple comparisons across small data sets and are useful in many scenarios. With everviz, you can easily switch between different data types to check which one best suits your data before making your decision.
The simplest way to include a legend or labels is to select an appropriate template when setting up your pie chart in the everviz chart maker. When you select the “Pie” chart type, you can also change the “Style” to include labels and/or a legend. If you have already progressed past this stage, you can always add a legend or labels later using the chart editor. Under the “Customize” menu you have options to enable and customize all aspects of your pie chart including labels and legends.
